Optimost’s greatest advantage was that they were early to the market.
We have extensively tested a variety of engines before ultimately arriving at Google’s solution and Optimost is the one solution that I would NOT recommend.
That said, the platform itself isn’t half bad. A good suite of testing tools that let you do what you need to do.
The core problems are that it is tremendously overpriced, and the support team is weak – if you have any prior experience you’ll outstrip their expensive “experts” in a heartbeat.

Excellent product, the console is not the easiest to use initially but when you get used to it extremely powerful.
The client services team is exceptional.

I really like this, having tried Test & target as well as Google. For one, understanding tests and results can get very complex, the Optimost dedicated team to me were extremely helpful and invaluable.
The recommendation part of the solution is really cool as well, it actually learns the content over time

Optimost is a powerful platform on which to execute simple and complex multi variate experiments as well as basic split tests.
The segmentation features are superb with the ultimate control over who sees what, how many times and how often in your tests. In a fully supported account these requirements can be communicated to technical staff who will build MVTs to complex specifications.
The technical team are efficient and helpful and can work to tight deadlines to ensure you get the most from your investment, which is significant. Good internal processes around sign off and QA make the build process robust and trustworthy.
The console itself can be complex to understand and in the case of detailed experiments involving numerous success factors often isn’t able to relate the full story, however this is not a criticism as the reports are clear in what they convey and only ever as good as the person that defines them.
Overall I would recommend this product for enterprise level MVT as the investment is considerable and in order to attain a ROI, significant levels of traffic are required.
Optimost is a good overall product but as with any MVT the power is in the test itself, not the software that executes it.
Good support, good technical assistance and insightful reports set up large business for success with this product.

As with the first review I was underwhelmed by the product.
If you have any significant technical resource you’ll likely be wanting to swim in a bigger pool very quickly.
The algorithms are very good, but are let down by the tools and support around them.
The test building interface has many features which “you can ignore we don’t use that any more” and the main management/reporting interface is barely usable – it doesn’t even work in Chrome/Safari.
If they upgraded the interface and took account management more seriously they could be a contender again – but you can get 80% of the benefit from near free tools on the market.
