Website revenue: $1 million to $10 million per year. Visitors per month: More than 1 million. Started using it: 01-12-2008. Chose it because: Because of its ability to change websites without having to go through the hassle of IT changes. It works as a proxy, which allows you to change the content based on regular expressions. Date stopped using it: Didn’t stop.
What results did you get from it?: We proved that 2 of our page variations were an almost 100% improvement of the “original” design.
Full review: What I love about the tool is also what I hate most about it: the fact that it uses regular expressions to replace ANY content, not just HTML but also CSS, JavaScript, XML, etc. It makes it incredibly powerful, but a bit harder to use as you have to know how regular expressions work.
We ran a couple dozen experiments with the tool, and all these have been greatly successful. Best thing about it is that we can make our own tests, and don’t have to bother anyone for the implementation of tagging.
Most clients won’t be able to use this tool without consultancy, as you’ll need to know, as said, regular expressions. Their support is phenomenal though, support queries are usually replied to within a couple of hours. Because of how it works, this tool is very useful for people with large websites and a slow moving IT department, their ASP solution could work for just about anyone though.
